As part of Wine's expansion into physical retail experiences, we identified the need to integrate a fluid digital solution that would enhance the customer experience. winebar in select stores.
The goal was to allow customers to browse the winebar menu, place orders and make payments entirely through the Wine app, eliminating the need for traditional counter service and reducing friction in the customer journey.
My role on the project involved understanding the retail flow, mapping pain points from both the team and customer perspectives, and designing an intuitive in-app ordering interface. We focus on:
- Design a fluid user journey, from wine selection to checkout.
- Creating clear UI elements for selection of snacks, wines by the glass and other available items.
- Integration Assurance with POS (point of sale) and store inventory systems.
- Implementation of geolocation capabilities, so that only users in stores with a winebar would see the option.
- Close collaboration with developers to ensure low latency updates and secure, real-time payment processing.
User flow helps visualize service focal points, showing whether user needs are being met efficiently and with little effort.

The process began in the research stages to investigate the problem and learn about the target audience. Then, it was time to put my skills into practice and design the final product, seeking a simple and intuitive experience. Finally, after the research, ideation and creation stages, it was time to finalize and deliver the project.

The result was a frictionless experience that aligned with the Wine brand — elevating the physical store atmosphere and encouraging spontaneous purchases while reducing staff workload.
